SPORTS WRITING

My introduction to sports media started with journalism. I love the process of applying my creativity to my writing. My role as a sports journalist has allowed me to be present at press conferences and media scrums and to be around some of the nation’s top collegiate athletes. Not only has my experience in journalism developed my interviewing and writing skills, but it has also helped me become a better commentator.

I currently am a sports writer for The Daily Emerald where I've written nearly 200 articles about University of Oregon athletics. At The Daily Emerald, I previously was the primary beat writer for Oregon softball, Oregon women’s soccer and Oregon volleyball. I have also covered men’s and women’s basketball and football at Oregon.

 

In addition to The Daily Emerald, I'm the writing coordinator at KWVA Radio. With this position, I have learned more about working with other writers and how to edit other people’s writing.

 

I also have my own SubStack called Cranium Sports where I’ve experimented with my writing and gone more in-depth about topics I’m most passionate about.
